"If thinking out of the box doesn't work, break the box and build something that does work."
~David H. Nguyen
David H. Nguyen, PhD
Principal Investigator
Dave is a computational biologist with a primary interest in developing novel methods to crack the grammar of the "tissue spatial code" that governs development, wound healing, and limb regeneration. He coined and is developing the concept of "Heritable Non-Genetic Information" (HNI, pronounced "honey") to describe a non-semantic code that governs the aforementioned biological phenomena in light of the mounting evidence that DNA is not the only heritable code that stores biological instructions.
Dave obtained his B.A. and Ph.D. from University of California, Berkeley. He was a Visiting Scholar in the Department of Radiology at Stanford University. Prior to this he was an Affiliate Scientist in the Molecular Biophysics and Integrated Bioimaging Division at Lawrence Berkeley National Laboratory.
